  • Soy or Coconut HT

Hello my wife and I have been making candles for 2 years and are tired of using 100% soy waxes, we have not been able to get the HT from Soy that we want so, out of frustration, we are moving away from Soy to another wax. We have decided to test IGI 6006 (Para-Soy) and IGI 6046 (Para-Coconut). Our question is, in your opinion “generally speaking” (I know we need to test, test, test) but which of these two waxes will give us the best HT? Or, is there another blend that is known to give a strong HT? Thank you, we appreciate the help and information!

I have use 6006 and have tested 6046 and found the throw to about the same. Both are great waxes and have similar burn characteristics. I definitely recommend buying a bit of both waxes to see which one will work for you.

I have found a great HT with gw464. I do add 1 tbsp of coconut oil per lb of wax . Helps with the frosting too!
